Salon-Grade Shampoo
Healthy Hair Starts Here
Not all shampoos are created equal, and not all hair needs the same thing.Get this step wrong and you’ll spend the rest of your routine compensating with extra treatments, heavier conditioners and more styling products. Get it right and everything else just works better.
That’s why we don’t believe in “one-size-fits-all” shampoo.
No matter if you’re looking for:
- A shampoo for oily hair that balances without over-stripping
- A shampoo for frizzy hair that smooths without flattening
- A shampoo for curly hair that hydrates and respects texture
- The best anti-dandruff shampoos that actually support scalp health
- Organic shampoos with a lighter ingredient profile
- Or a proper clarifying shampoo to reset your hair after a sweaty summer
...you’ll find products here that are designed to solve, not mask.
Why Professional Shampoo Makes a Difference
Professional shampoo isn’t about fancy branding. It’s about formulation.
We stock salon-grade hair shampoo designed for real hair concerns, not vague promises on the back of a supermarket bottle. From clarifying shampoo for build-up and chlorine, to sulphate-free shampoo that Kiwi shoppers love for colour care, to targeted formulas for oily roots, curls, frizz and flakes.
Why? Because salon-grade shampoos are typically:
- More concentrated (you use less per wash)
- Balanced for scalp health first
- Designed to work alongside conditioner and treatments
- Better at protecting colour and reducing long-term dryness
That’s why people often find they wash less frequently, use fewer “fix-it” products, and get more consistent results over time.
The best shampoo is the one that supports your scalp and hair properly. Everything else builds from there.
Start With Your Scalp
Most people shop for shampoo based on their hair. Professionals start with the scalp - and we suggest our customers do, too!
- Oily roots? You need balance, not harsher cleansing.
- Flakes? It’s often a scalp environment issue, not dryness alone.
- Flat hair? It could be a build-up, not a lack of volume.
When your scalp is properly supported, your locks behave better with less effort. Choose your shampoo based on what’s happening at the root, and everything else tends to fall into place.
FAQs
What is the best shampoo for oily hair?
The best shampoo for oily hair is one that balances your scalp without stripping it. Look for lightweight, scalp-focused formulas - harsh cleansers can actually make oiliness worse over time. Some of our favourite brands for oily hair is Biolage, Nioxin and Pureology.
Does not using shampoo cause hair loss?
No, skipping shampoo doesn’t directly cause hair loss. But heavy build-up from oil and products can irritate the scalp, which isn’t ideal for healthy hair growth.
Can you use purple shampoo on brown hair?
You can, but it works best on blonde, highlighted or lightened brown hair. Purple shampoo neutralises yellow tones - it won’t lighten dark, natural brunette hair. If you're seeing a lot of warmth - that you did not want - in brown hair, go for a blue shampoo.
What is clarifying shampoo?
Clarifying shampoo is a deeper cleanser designed to remove product build-up, chlorine and mineral deposits. It’s a reset wash, not an everyday shampoo.
