Start with less than you think you need. You can always add more, but overloading curls makes them limp rather than defined.

What's the difference between this and Davroe Curl Crème Definer?

Curl Balm is more of a hydrating leave-in treatment that also defines. Curl Crème Definer is a styling product with stronger hold and more frizz control. Use Curl Balm for softer, more natural curls; Crème Definer when you want more structure.

Does it protect against heat?

Yes. It provides UV and heat protection, making it suitable as a pre-diffuse treatment without needing a separate heat protectant for low-heat drying.

What should I wash with before using this?

The CURLiCUE Cleansing Clay Shampoo and Deep Conditioning Rinse are the full CURLiCUE routine, but it works after any gentle, sulphate-free wash.
